Ellis's run is actually pretty fucking good. You just have to ignore everything that came after it. I think its reputation has soured not because of the comic itself, but because of people associating it with all the shitty comics that it influenced.
>>149415279
ive read every issue about 3 times, i kinda liked some of the post ellis stuff and even the dc vampire shit with jenny and apollo
but the full run (i think i own 2/3s of it) is pretty shitty at time but at good times the highs are fucking really high
>>149416405 >readable, but /co/ will never admit it.
because were not usually in the habit of lying, only when it comes to tards posting preposterous ideas
>>149416756 >You're in denial
i wish i was because i dont want to hate him, but hes never really ever been "good"
at best hes like a meal you eat when drunk and its good, but when youre sober you think to yourself "how did i consume that and think it was good?"

Bendis' Daredevil is still leagues better than Alias.
Fucking awful book, but every single time people bring it up as an example of "good Bendis" or "good comics every newbie needs to read". Fucking hate it.
Still somehow better than the live-action adaptation
>>149416756
All I know of Bendis is USM, Daredevil, and Alias. My judgment of him is based solely on these works. They're mediocre at their absolute best, and considering that these are his most lauded comics, so is he.
>>149415300 >pretty sure Reddit loves TDKR more than /co/ does
This is the opposite of reality. >Sandman because of Gaiman's shit, it's still a great comic
It was never good. Just goth faggotry for goth faggots.
>>149416405
youre right on both fronts, and the seething replies only prove it further. there's a reason why his early Daredevil run or the entirety of USM is so beloved and popular virtually everywhere except /co/ because... it just isn't good, okay?!
>>149416980 >entry-level Spider-Man book at the height of Raimi >HURR IT'S SO POPULAR
That reason it's popular is nostalgiafaggotry, but you won't admit that and will make another bitchy passive-aggressive post instead.
>>149416980
The sort of people who love Bendis's Daredevil and Spider-Man are the sort of people who balk at reading any comics older than 1999 because they're too "wordy" and "dated". Therefore, their opinion doesn't count. Q.E.D.
>>149418899
That was never well received. If anything, it's less hated now than when it came out. At the time /co/ was calling it one of the worst comics ever.
>>149419180
I don't. This is legitimately the only place to get good criticisms of comics even if it skews negative. Reddit glazes everything they read and doesn't even touch older stuff so it's this place or nothing sadly
You could just pick any comic that was popular in the 2000s. The 2000s has become the new 90s for comics. /co/ absolutely refuses to accept that anything good came out during that decade and even goes as far as making the objectively false claim that the 2010s and 2020s are both better.
>>149419762
What don't you like about it? Is it Moondragon getting sidelined as a hostage by Thanos? I don't like that either. I want Moondragon to do cool shit, then act smug about it. I love Moondragon!
>>149417501
The supporting cast was okay-ish, with some decent interactions here and there.
The villains were absolutely fucking atrocious: generic punching bags at best, total jokes at worst. Bendis was too preocuppied with "modernizing" them and forgot to actually make them interesting.
>>149419875
Right from the beginning, I don't like any of the characters. Annihilus is a garbage villain, and Richard is not a very compelling hero, considering all that's happened.
It doesn't feel epic, grandiose, thrilling, fun, or anything aside from disappointing and a little boring. The art is also subpar.
