Jack might still be under their influence, having never actually been cured of their mind altering effects on him and Jenny clearly has some fascination of her own with the whitelegs. It's even possible that all the witches are already infested by the whitelegs.
Kat still probably wouldn't KILL Zimmy over it, it's hard to imagine Kat would ever willingly kill anyone, but she'd certainly be very very mad.

The problem with the god's nebulous power levels in this comic seems to be whatever powers a god should have is what powers they do have. Kat is not fully bought in to this whole ether business yet, so she might still arbitrarily limit her power level. For all we know, doing what she did to Omega already only worked because of god power wank, but only because Kat's suspension of disbelief hasn't been broken. It makes a lot of sense in-universe and it's cool that Tom is able to blur the line so much it disappears, but it kinda sucks for those trying to make sense of things.
