I'm indifferent to orange. I think even among iconic orange-haired animated characters the ones that get the most fanart, AI gen aside, only get it because they're attached to a legacy ip, like Asuka. Even narrowing the scope to mom/mature/hag characters, think about how many non-furry orange hair moms get art (excepting furries since orange-ish fur looks perfectly normal and appealing on dogs and cats). Basically no one. On top of that, there's not much you can do with Dexter's mom (who is unnamed, by the way. Doesn't even have a fan-given name. Not a good look.) that remains faithful to canon. Comparing Dexter incest with Gumball and Loud House and any other popular ships, pretty much no one actually likes Dexter, he's not as cute, and there's no one else to ship her with, and in general the lack of closeness in the family dynamic makes her a lot less likable than the type of shows coming out nowadays with mom characters. And her visual design is overall less appealing, I think, circling back to the orange hair thing, but also including her outfit. That's why the bulk of her art, AI or human, is either blacked/ntr or gratuitous ass shots. But thank god a some artists still draw generic pinups with her, at least sometimes. All I'm saying is that I think the only asset she has that stands out compared to other mom characters is her canon butt size, which isn't that interesting when artists can draw butt however large they want.
