Yeah pretty much,he was there cause guy would steal the spotlight from flash as a funny dude,kyle was too new and too young so flash also gets usurped,hal would be bit more jokey superman and john wasnt used that much was black and blank slate.
Every action cartoon/kids show needed atleast one black guy back then.
Power rangers had black ranger with a mammoth for example.
That was johns peak and thats all that stuck with him due to nostalgia and writers not knowing what to do with him.
I say we give him green lightning powers

Kyle's run was good, but it was standard superhero stuff. Hal's supporting cast (Sinestro, Carol, Kilowog) blows Kyle's out of the water, and getting rid of the Corps is not a good thing.
