How much do people actually charge on commissions, I always thought they were around 5 to 10 bucks. I figured it would take about an hour on a commission so should it be like at most 20 bucks

You can charge any amount you want. If no one wants to pay it's your problem. But if people pay, it's free market baby.

It varies wildly by artist. But I would not go for jewish ones like this. If flat colors are higher than $50 it's a no go, is my general rule.

Like, if you can fill a niche, something others will not commonly draw, you can ask for hundreds, and you'll get very generous tips, sometimes in the hundreds too. No point in underpricing yourself either, it makes you look like an amateur

The needs of some commissioners are far too specific for AI. Also you'll discover half the commission game is about sharing your fetish with the artist. An AI won't get you that

You can literally charge whatever you want for a commission.
There are furry artists who make thousands of dollars on the one commission, because there are furries that spend that much on 'em.
Of course, how popular your art is is usually the greatest indicator of how many commissions you're going to get at the asking price.

I have payed easily 200+ on just one artist in my younger furry days. They did good stuff though and where versatile with what they could draw in terms of styling or shading.

1. Many people don't know how to bypass porn filters on public AI.
2. Some people do it as advertising back to their own art page. "Here's a commission for @anonymous!".
3. Some people are fans.
4. Lots of people don't want to be hounded by anti-AI groups. If there was no backlash towards it, you better believe that lots of "moral" artists would use it.
5. Some people actually do think it's a moral issue and stand by their refusal to use it.

This depends on a lot of factors
1. Notability, just for name alone can fetch you hundreds to thousands of dollars. There have been charity auctions for Matt Groening sketch commissions that have gone for $3,000+, and you aren’t paying for quality art as much as getting a custom drawing from prominent figure. Even a prominent highly followed online artist might have enough pull for higher price commissions
2. Skill level, if you are very high level you will fetch more just for making higher quality deliveries
3. Ability to fill niches. Reason people say nsfw make more bank is because they will do more then majority who will reject it, so if you will do a certain niche people have to come to you, and will pay more because there is no option
So you have to find your worth in drawing and if it’s worth it to you. Really it is what people will pay for your service when there’s thousands who have them open right now

I charge 50 despite sucking at it. Not because I believe my stuff is worth that much, but when you draw for cheap your clients are all entitled retards who think they're doing you a favor, you should be glad you even get anything, and then ask Paypal for refunds because they know they side with the customer in most cases and you're likely not going through the full process over pocket change.

At this point I'd rather work for exposure than for these guys
