it was awesome

All I really need to be content with DCU John Stewart adaptation is to see him use his ring constructs in ways that remind you he's both an engineer/architect and a marine. I especially want to see him use his ring to temporarily replace missing parts of a machine, I just think it would be really cool.

I don’t know how they always screw up Hal Jordan. Back in 2013 you could’ve had Tom Cruise, or someone Tom Cruise adjacent, play Hal, adapt his pilot origin faithfully, give him a practical suit like in MoS, give Hal a hot love interest like Lauren Cohen, and have him save the day on earth. Don’t go full CGI shitfest in the first one. Make Hal a red blooded American, proud to serve his country like Michael Bay protagonists usually are, and release it near 4th of July. It would’ve been a hit

all either majorly character assassinated into air head jocks or brutally and jarringly turned psychopathic heel and promptly killed off or just plain killed off.

There's an obvious reason, because John is a black dude so he fills any diversity issues, and nobody outside of comic autists (half of who will probably watch anyway) gives a shit about which GL they use (I doubt most normies even know there's different ones), so they just use the black dude because it's technically not a raceswap, and most people don't care enough about Hal Jordan to throw a fit like if they used Luke Fox Batman instead of Bruce Wayne or some shit.
