What pissed me off was that he did have the opportunity to make the definitive modern Superman film but ultimately couldn't break free from his own tired narrative tropes. He played it safe because thats all he knows how to do. He really should not have been the one to write or direct this movie - just produce it.

As a result it makes me nervous for the rest of his DCU and some of the choices he'll make.

His style worked with Guardians and Peacemaker but not Superman.
