/co/ has been hating Miles and these movies for years. They've made it part of their DNA to be like that. They don't care if everyone else loved the movies and that they did well. They will go to the grave saying the series is shit and that it was unsuccessful. Get ready for two years of this.

Hopefully it be bad enough that it causes the masses to finally start acknowledging that the first two films weren’t that good to begin with.

The worst thing is that they were already outright wrong the first two times, and each one has been considered both 1) in the top 3 animated movies in year released and 2) the top novel anesthetics in an animated movie in release year. They just can't take the L gracefully.

OP here, It’s successful and the first movie is pretty good, but the second one went full retard with the canon even shit and the writers wrote themselves into a corner. Thats why it’s going to be bad, and no one cares about/likes miles outside of these movies

I do, in certain cases. In this case, it's because I hate miles and I hate what marvel has done to spider-man in the last 20 years. If there's a sliver of a chance they'll pay for what they've done to Peter, I'll take it.

People don't want quality entertainment, they want to get entertainment out of talking with people in the internet about how bad a thing was. Look at how addicted /v/ is to imagining a video game failing. /tv/ movies and shows. /co/ comics and cartoons. The quality entertainment for people now IS the entertainment being shit so they can go and complain about it with others.

For the record I despise the way Spider-Man's been handled, this isn't a post trying to say this movie might be good. People are just addicted to outrage and complaining now as a general rule of thumb.

Nta, but I admit to being one of the few in the world to genuinely not care for the first movie and not because of any spite risen from some tribalistic protectionism of peter-parker. In fact, I'm not even into capeshit, I just thought the movie was okay with some cool visuals and well played out gags at moments, but the visual clutter and choppy animation are so annoying to me that I just couldn't care for it in the end. And the story doesn't make up for it, it's bland and formulaic from beginning to end and they waste the potential of the premise, they don't even try to write anything interesting or significant for the other spidermans to do, they were literally just phoned in because they just KNEW black spiderman was NEVER going to be enough to sell this movie.
This movie is overrated af, didn't watch the second so I can't speak about it.

why did they even make Miles if his entire character is just being amateur Spider-Man for forever?

once they established him as that, no one will ever see him as anything else due to the nature of this type of media

they don't really have growth per se

NTA but my issues with the second movie:
Canon events are a terrible plot device from start to finish, and they don't make sense with the characters the movie has chosen to strawman them.
The movie's portrayal of Miguel is shit. His new costume is terrible, his motivation doesn't make sense for him, and at no point does he ever actually feel like Miguel.
The same is true for Ben Reilly, but at least his costume looks good.
The same is also true Jessica Drew, and it's funny that they genuinely expected her to be popular among fans.
Peter B, who was by far the best part of the first movie, has been shafted hard. His character is now "irresponsible dad" who brings his infant daughter to fights, and at no point does he actually get to put on his full costume because I guess having "the real Spider-Man" on screen would undermine what they want to do with Miles.
The movie ends on an abrupt cliffhanger that makes the movie feel unfinished, and they've written themselves into a corner so badly that not possible outcome could be satisfying.

I unironically hate the movie industry. They are a bunch of talentless hacks whose only purpose is to search IP from other industries and ruin them in their shit format. Their top ten most succesful products are all stolen form other industries, it's embarrassing.

Not even their original shit is the best there. The greatest Star Wars stories weren't done on film.

Spot is a good idea and executed well but he's basically exits at the beginning of Act 2. Like a better movie might make the whole "this is your fault Miles and I hate you!" Miguel plot just a subplot

The second movie's conflict could've been resolved in like 30 minutes, theres no need to have a whole third film that's clearly stuck in development hell
