>>149475142Most furfags and non-anthro enjoyers have like little to none Zoological knowledge.
Furfags often times just see an animal they think is cute anthropomorphized and just use them because it gives them feelings. They are either
>Just the common mammalian woodland critter/creature>Domesticated animals>Some exotic mythical creatures like Dragons>Some exotic rare animals like Cheetah's, Maned Wolves or whatever flavor of the week species that appeals to them. Often times they are just species that are just a reskin of the above mentioned categories. Such as the Cheetah and the Maned Wolf. And of course the average Zoological layman doesn't give a crap about any of that and just calls a Coyote a Wolf, or a Crocodile a Caiman or vice versa.
A world built on actual zoological facts, and characterization close to the source animals and how they actually behave, and even respect towards that animals eco-system by not mixing animals from different eco-regions in the same cast without proper world building.
It seems boring to layman because they aren't savvy or to interested in taxonomy or nature.
To actual zoologists they either end up allocating all of their resources wildlife conservation and rehab, or if they do step into the cartoon sector it's usually just Edu-tainment (i.e. Wild Kratts)
To furries they just want to draw species that makes their pee pee's hard.
You also have to give the furries credit because you also have to give the anthros designs that actually seem humanized otherwise you'll get things like the CGI Lion King remake where the anthros are basically expressionless bipedal animals.
But not too much credit or you'll just end up with unappealing grotesque overly sexual art, like the majority of popular furry content.
