DCU Terrifics
2 down, 2 to go. Who would you cast as Plastic Man and Phantom Girl? How would you introduce them into the DCU? Should it be a film or movie? What adventure would you have? Anything specific from the Terrifics run?

Also you might be able to get around Plastic Man's powers looking odd by using some practical effects. Like if he were to morph into a car you could have it painted like his costume and have a "face" with moving car parts. Less exposed skin could help too

give plastic man a fully animated movie or miniseries, then bring him into live action but have him still be an animated character

I want to see the Terrifics as much as the next guy, but I feel like we might already have them.
I mean, the Justice Gang might be a prototypical Justice League, but you can very clearly see the Terrifics DNA, and I feel like that's as far as Gunn will go with the idea.

Yeah just have a modeled car but puppeteer work the grill or interior radio to be his face. The real problem would be "half-morphs" where his legs become springs or his arm stretches out. But again I think this can be easily worked around by covering more of his skin. Most of wonky CGI happens in the face anyway, and unlike Mister Fantastic from the new F4 movie, animators can "cheat" thanks to Plas's goggles. Which by the way, how does the stretching look on Pascal in those trailers?

It's just not The Terrifics without Plas and Phantom Girl. Plus there's seeds that Mister Terrific isn't entirely on board thanks to Guy and the implied shit with Maxwell Lord

Jim Carrey is the only choice for Plastic Man

True, but adaptations change things as you've seen, Gunn might just be interested in the idea of a team lead by Mister Terrific with matching costumes instead of the actual Terrifics.

Norimes would just call it a rip off of the fantastic four which it is in the first place. Honestly would Gunn want to adapt anything from this era of DC? This era was a bunch of Marvel ripoffs that fell off the earth. Does anyone remember Sideways

Ive got an insane plot for a great “The Terrifics” movie thats unique and incorporates a good origin story for the team getting together but Im genuinely delusional enough to think that If I make it into comics and pitch it to DC. They’d green light my idea.

I even have ideas for a six issue mini and a swimsuit summer special.

Never heard a Normie compare Aquaman and Namor. Or HawkEye to the Arrow TV show.

I dont think Normies really care. Give them something animated or filmed thats worth watching and they’ll go along with it

Terrifics and Sideways were good though

Brimstone, Damage, and Immortal Men were also worth using on random team ups. Or at least as background characters.

I hate that DC will just shelve characters without even trying ever again.

Im not saying go full retard again like Naomi and Bendis, but Brimstone could have made a good character in a JLD run and Sideways would fit perfectly in a book Teen Titans book.

The obvious choices for Plas are Ben Schwartz or Andy Samberg, but they are starting to get up there in age. For Phantom Girl I’d pick Cailee Spaeny, just cause she’s cute & I liked her in Alien Romulus

The whole reason people want/expect the Terrifics is because we already have two of them, and this tweet Gunn made when he was developing the DCU.

I just realized the justice gang are all "asshole" heros. I wonder if that trend will continue. Think we'll get Hawk & Dove or Booster down the line?

Mister Terrific isn't an asshole, and neither was Metamorpho if you count him.

Terrific is almost always portrayed as a bit of an arrogant prick, and Rexs personality has always been all over the place but the 2018 run really played up his emotional issues.

I wouldn't call Terrific an "asshole". He's confident, but that's not unwarranted given his intellect and feats. He also has a rough background what with losing people that were dear to him and contemplating suicide

Jim Carrey seems like the popular choice, but Alan Tudyk would do a great job too.

Jim Carrey would be great in terms of facial expressions for Plas, but he'd probably refuse considering how he looks back on Kick Ass.
