Man, my very first furry experience was this scene and all the Tod x Vixey scenes in The Fox and the Hound. I found out about furries later in life and became one formally later on but as a small child these movies planted the seed that would forever stay within me. I never imagined so many other people even remembered the squirrel from The Sword in the Stone, let alone shared my experience with it. Obviously I knew some couple of people would have made a handful of shitty fetish fanart about it on deviantart here and there or something but to see the amount of discussion on it I've discovered there actually is out here was unthinkable to me.
I remember my specific experience was fatasizing about being Wart and just chilling with this cute squirrel girl and making up whole cheesy ass romace scenarios and dialogue in my 4-5 year old head and the same thing multiplied by 50 for the Tod and Vixey scenes just chilling in their fox den and being cute little forest things living simply in the wild by their own. The scene where the squirrel realizes Wart is human and he desperately tries to apologize without hurting her any further, Merlin telling him about the force of love and the fact that we realize how much she actually liked him by how betrayed she feels and her sadness about it... Man, in the whole meaning of the word, that awakened something in me.
