I really hope whoever this character is, they don't expect us to like her. Even Connie's cousin was openly presented as a bitch that Bobby learns a lesson from by the end.

>>149489066
They did that before just in more broad ways. Like some stuff after the Megalo explosion, with Luanne's hair slowly growing back and Buckley's Angel, and her stuff about moving out of Hank's den. I think her hair dresser thing was a mini-arc also. I'm trying to think of examples that had elements stretch beyond part 1 and part 2 episodes.

Wild hogs are a legitimate issue down in Texas and other states since they breed like rabbits, eat all the crops and are smart enough to know humans=death so they run from people on sight. Gets to the point where the state strait up declared open season on them and you have guys hunting them down with machine guns from jeeps or even goddamn helicopters, popping them by the *dozens* almost every time.

I definitely don't see them giving any "modern girl" a bad end/comeuppance like they did with Tid Pao. Not that I can imagine what Willow would be doing that would warrant any possible bad end but I doubt she's going to be told off for anything and leave in a way that presents her as just having been nothing but a problem. Bobby's probably going to encourage Hank to not be put off by her haircut and semi-abraisive personality because that's just how things are and Bobby has always bridged the gap between older values and accepting the modern world with open arms.

>>149489117
I hope we get to see some Didi characterization. It actually made me happy when we saw her in the intro where she'd dropped off GH or something with Bobby to play with him. I'm hoping she's opened up more to the family, after Cotton died it felt like she was just trying to bail on everyone and probably immediately went to get her ass pounded by a new guy and cared about no one.

Also I wanna see Tammi come back and get a glimpse into her post-prostitute life and hopefully it's positive. Not some downer timeskip shit just to make people go "damn, things went wrong somewhere... whoah... so different..." like they did with Kahn and Minh.

It's a shame because there is potential here, but with the deaths of the VAs for Dale, Luanne, John Redcorn, and Lucky, I really don't think this show should continue past this initial season.
I mean, especially with Dale, he was such a main character, how do you do a season without him? Recasting any of them would feel terribly disrespectful.

Dale is replaced by Toby Huss by his third episode. His episodes were already in production so it couldn't be cut. And yeah, I'm really going to miss Luanne, pretty sure they confirmed she just will not be in the show. But with this lifeless animation even her potential fanservice would just be depressing. It's Bobby's fault for not keeping his girl in line. He left her to be corrupted. He's trying to make things right by correcting her with his sausage by the end of the season but I'm pretty sure they're just going to mutually decide not to do it because that's subversive and it'll have all been a waste of time. Also it feels like the polyamory plot is going to be some bombshell reveal considering by episode 6 she has a boyfriend who "may be cheating on her" and Bobby's going to have to learn it's all okay because this is a normal life choice.

My wife grew up in a country without KotH. We're gonna spend a few days starting this week watching the first thirteen seasons to catch her up on the show. If she likes the first few episodes, that is. I'm not sure she will but maybe. She surprisingly really liked Frasier when I introduced it to her and unsurprisingly despised the reboot (I liked the reboot to some degree but she absolutely loathed it).
Anyway, the new eps sound moreorless in-line with the classics. Guess we'll see how it goes.

Yeah, it does suck, I think it's a downer to think about too. I'm glad they at least want to respect the VAs they had time to consider the characters for. I feel like I'm going to miss the community of characters the show had.

These are normal enough KotH premises and I'm relieved they are mostly doing normal KotH episodes with a bit of continuing story, rather than today's horrible "each episode starts where the last one left off" storytelling.

But... no Luanne, not much Dale (I wonder if they had any Dale-centric stories they would have done if the actor hadn't died), no Strickland Propane, no Cotton -- it seems like it's just "The Hank and Bobby Show" a lot of the time and that is the core of the show, but still.

(I personally think they should have recast Luanne if only for one episode, or thrown Toby Huss a bone by doing a Cotton flashback episode or something for variety.)

So I assume Bobby and Connie getting together is going to be a running plot throughout the season and Chane's still an asshole, just hiding it behind a friendly facade.

Tammy is an extremely well liked character from one of the most popular episodes of the series. I would think that Judge and the others, unlike most modern entertainment creators, aren't so meanspirited that they'd spite fans like that.

I get the distinct impression that Connie's status is a.) cope from her and b.) in part related to what's going on with her parents and it'll be resolved by the end of the season.

It 100% would come from gambling debts to Rooster and/or Thatherton... or Lane Pratley.

>I feel like I'm going to miss the community of characters the show had.
I'd assume most of the regulars that can still show up are going to show up in some capacity. I hope we get some answer as to what's going on with Buck and Strickland but I don't think you'll see Enrique again unless Danny Trejo's cheap and the rest of them were incidental characters. I'm more interested to see which of the Tom Landry characters shows up. Dooley and Clark Peters and Emily feel like they can just be slotted in wherever.

>Bobby runs into a childhood friend in Dallas (Salad)
Connie? The leaked trailer made it seem like they meet at like her college. Unless she's doing some college exchange visit thing, didn't she want to go to Harvard? Did she settle for something more local? Does Dallas have any good reputable colleges (or any that would net bragging rights for attending)?

TV law: everyone goes to college near their home no matter how much sense it would make for them to go to a bigger school.

Hell, the fact that they are actually letting some characters live in Dallas rather than Arlen feels like something what would have been illegal in the 90s. (Even Cotton moved to Arlen in the original show, though his appearances didn't increase.)

Saved and webm'd the storyboard leaks. Posting on /wsg/ since some of them are longer than /co/'s runtime limit.

I would imagine that there's a whole tie in between Connie's weird relationship stuff, Kahn and Minh's marriage breaking down and Connie going to college in Dallas. Presumably her parents' marriage breaking down caused her to rebel and/or affected her studies meaning she didn't have the grades to get into a more elite school like Stanford or an Ivy and she got more promiscuous as a way of acting out, much like how her mom hooked up with her dad in part because Minh was doing it to piss off the General.

You know I can't really imagine Kahn's divorce lasting long, I imagine it will end similarly to the Costanzas' divorce in Seinfeld with them getting back together, maybe Kahn will get a macaroni statue up his ass, definitely something that makes one of them jealous to try to win the other back.

considering kahn's the one kicked out and forced to stay with bill im going to be pissed if the reason is that kahn did something minh got pissed at him for, when one of the later episodes heavily implied minh has cheated on kahn already for a fucking throwaway joke (the one with the car dealership)

If they could get a guest star, wouldn't they advertise that fact? Wouldn't the plot be "King of the Hill meets Stephen Colbert" or something? Really proves that the Simpsons will always be the better show.

Really goes to show that no one will ever be there for Bill. No one picked up the slackafter Hank left to even check on him or be concerned when he never left his house. What a fucking miserable revival.
