what made the post-crisis dc universe so special? imo dc truly hasn't been great since flashpoint.

If you talking about the OG Crisis then its simply because they had a roster of creatives with an interest in the material, that were (relatively) recently freed from censorious restrictions but still had company obligations to work within.
On top of this they had a ton of material to both draw upon and build off of without allowing many petty fanboy hang-ups of "not muh childhood" warp the work. Like with what would happen in the future.

In other words it was the right talent at the right time in the right place lacking just enough ego while having the resources to make it all work.

Because while it wasn't perfect and while there were still a lot of loose ends and messes, they actually had a decent idea of what they wanted their new universe to be. This is why tne Nu52 didn't work at all.

Actual effort being put into continuity for the first and only time in the company's history.

I don't think they were THAT important really.

None of these people had anything to do with the overall state of the company.

Tomasi is the reason why the Green Lantern books were so good. Dude was a great editor and writer.

It was the longest lasting continuity, began serialized story arc events for DC, and is what everyone younger than 50 grew up with

Also does anyone remember how for some reason Superman got like 4 different origin stories between CoIE and Flashpoint?
Anonymous No.149499236
>>149498305
It's because when Didio came on board they kept waffling on it.

Man of Steel was the default origin until Birthright
Then it waffled back and forth on which one was the origin up till Infinite Crisis
After that Johns and Frank did Superman: Secret Origin, probably partly because Waid was on the outs with Didio

Attention and care. Better talent. MUCH better editors. People didn't just throw random shit at a wall but rather formulated careful plans.
