I don't think it's that. The premise itself wasn't going to be anything promising towards a lot of people. However, knowing Tartavosky's body of work. They are disappointed that he's at the helm of this instead of something else. I know he wanted to make this film since 2009. But I feel that by now a raunchy animated feature like this has already been done. So why tread the same waters? He's at liberty to pursue projects he's interested in making. I just think such passions would be best laid elsewhere.

Dino pussy wasn't a huge deal in the big picture. Lots of nature documentaries include similar scenes. The actual sex scene at the end of the series didn't show the genitals of the characters, either. The focus of the show was on shameless gore rather than sex.
This movie seems to be about horny dogs and their balls, with a secondary focus on violence. Sex is played for comedy here, whereas in Primal it was played for drama.

For me personally, I'd feel intense embarrassment if Fixed was on TV and anyone caught me watching it. The trailer made it look that trashy.

I like it and dislike it. The art style appeals to my personal tastes. Many of my favorite artists use that kind of black lineart with nice line width variation and simple cartoony eyes. The big pile of dogs makes me think of some Don Rosa or Asterix panels where there's lots of characters in the middle of an action scene, and you notice new little details every time you look at the picture. It's certainly different from generic movie teaser art trends such as blue/orange contrast shots, or a lone character smiling at the camera against an empty background.

On the other hand, what I dislike is that all the details I can observe are gross. I don't particularly want to see dogs humping each other or licking their assholes.

The poster also makes me worried about this quote:

No, I'm going to hate on it because Genndy lost his touch years ago and literally nobody fucking asked for "Sausage Party, But With Dogs." Literally every aspect of this project looks and sounds like complete shit and under no circumstances should this kind of lazy, puerile dreck be rewarded.

I think people are insecure about how adult animation is perceived in the West, so when something this unapologetically raunchy comes out they act like it's "setting adult animation back" or whatever. The thing is that Genndy has already proven himself capable of making "mature" adult animation and is one of the few Western creators to have been provided an opportunity to do so. If anyone's earned the right to make something this risqué, it's him. I personally don't mind lowbrow humour as long as its done well, and I'm looking forward to seeing how the movie turns out. Maybe it'll be shit, I dunno, but it's Genndy so I'm sure there will be plenty to like about it at least.
