But I hope they reintroduce the Shazamily, Black Adam, and the JSA into the DCU at some point.

With Shazam, I think they should give us something closer to the classic version of Billy, like in the recent Mark Waid book, but keep the rest of the Shazamily the same more or less.

I know it's being reported this way wide and far today, but it feels like provocative clickbait. This is what they published and, I think the confusion is intentional on thier part, for controversy.

Black Adam wasn't that bad, it was a little overt and repetitive but fine.
People only sunk their teeth in it because of Dwayne. Same with the Flash, it was not atrocious, even if ironically very rushed at the finish line, but Ezra's behavior clearly got people rabid in advance.

I'm not sure why Gunn even bothered giving an opinion, he could just point out that the characters as they were complicate his own lore plans and leave it at that. Though I guess he isn't saying he's done with the characters or actors, just giving his opinion on the movies.

Fury of the Gods is okay, they overcorrected the lack of action in the first movie so it became soulless action pieces strung together, but I don't get the hate

Frankly Billy is more trouble than he's worth from a practical standpoint. Good luck recasting kid actors every few years. Maybe it would be best just to have Billy appear in side roles in his champion form, alluding to his true nature but never actually seeing the kid.
