Baxxid and Indrel are ancestral enemies. Which makes sense considering the Baxxid past which they try to hide so desperately, but apparently nobody in-universe had pieced this together until now. Yannit has been trained from a very young age to go into full mindless terminator mode at the sight/smell of a Baxxid.

Actually, that reminds me, we never see how kalgur shredded that guy. Its implied to be explosive, but baxxid dont really have blades and the huge claws would crush more than pierce or slice. Not to mention the claws are too long and curved and the joints arent set up for that. Their head isnt that promising either, with fragile feeding appendages exposed on either side of the plate

Isher's thumb claw is probably the most practical as a weapon (authough absurd for daily life), but at least yannit has huge forearms to power that crushing grip

How does this fight go in the wild? Do lone baxxids ambush indrel on the periphery of their territory, claw them into mulch then devour them? Is it massive clan-v-clan warfare? Or are they better tunnelers who dig saps into indrel nests and steal like, eggs or something

To be fair, this is all consistent with what we know about the characters.

I've got some trouble seeing Baxxid huinters as the type who'd sneak into a hive, in part since the Indrel have strength in numbers on their side and can smell the Baxxid from a decent distance, in part because I feel the ancient Baxxids would be far more violent than that, considering how they're talked about by the current Baxxids. As hunters it would make more sense for them to ambush scouts and gatherers who move further away from the hive. But then again, if the Baxxid really just butchered strays it wouldn't make sense for the Indrel to have such an extreme reaction to them. To me it suggests that they consider the Baxxid a serious threat to the hive as a whole. So maybe it really was more like IRL ant warfare where they raid the hive in large numbers.

As someone who enjoys the comic as a whole, the transformation plot and how much emphasis is placed on it is easily my least favorite thing about it. It's got interesting characters and cool worldbuilding, but it keeps circling back to the mechanics of the transformation and how it's affecting the character physically and mentally, even going into detail about things like sex and reproduction. I get that it's something that interests the author, but as someone without that particular fetish I'd be a lot happier if he could bring himself to gloss over stuff like that a bit more and focus on the actually good parts of the story.

Going off what val has said baxxid can move very fast in short bursts. So even a blunt claw can blow a human apart at full tilt. Also yes no one here can fight. Kal is a geeky teenager, Yannit is insane, Isher is a wimp, and Kass is a rat.

Buddy, it's a TF comic. I started reading it for the fetish, and damnit I will keep reading it for the fetish. That is it's place in the world. Just look at Val's other comic and be grateful this one even has a real story to begin with. There is a million other webcomics for you to read without tf stuff in them if you hate it so much.

I could see that, but baxxid arent going to be capable predators if they take significant losses in a massed-warfare scenario and it seems clear thats a possibility since their armour isnt that tough and most of them is unplated. I like egg poaching because
1) front-facing armour is all you need for tunnel fighting
2) you can collapse a tunnel to escape
3) if you can be killed by your prey you probably dont engage it directly

Maybe a large baxxid colony preying on scouts could just deplete the entire hive over time though, who knows

Actually the indrel might be the best set up for combat of anyone having most of their organs protected and tucked away in their... abdomen? Tail? Either way
