The story continues to just be decent - better than recent Gwenpool stories but that is so low a bar it's barely worth mentioning. The writer had a good grasp on Gwen's voice in the beginning of her funeral, it sounded more genuine, but started to lose it to quips again when she appeared in full. I refuse to believe that only Kate/Jeff/Peter would show up for Gwen's funeral, she has more friends than that.
I liked the confrontation of Peter/Gwen about the incredulity of her return and especially how Weapon X would have no reason to revive Gwen Stacy, they shouldn't even know/care who she is at all. Being aware of this makes me hope they're building up to something worth it. I appreciate they're giving gravity to the Peter/Gwen relationship. I also enjoyed when Kate was possessed bringing up Gwen Stacy's revived multiple times. I came out of last issue hopeful that Stacypool would get some development having regret killing Poolepool by accident, but in the middle she seems right back to being murder-happy and I have doubts.
Gwen becoming a vengeful spirit is kind of understandable - the shock of losing her life could have that effect on any psyche. But it's jarring knowing what Gwen knows: she of all people should know death is a joke in comics and while I get she's pissed this vindictiveness is unusual for the character. Especially with her body-snatching others and holding them mentally captive. I'm hopeful that her saying editorial wants a 'dark Gwenpool' will lead to her realizing this path is exactly what she was trying to avoid with Evil Gwenpool in Unbelievable, that if she gets too dark she'll see what a slippery slope it is to becoming the callous being she saw in her future. Maybe with commentary on how being too close to Deadpool was never meant to be her thing either. Also I really like how she brings up Cecil now that she's a ghost too, but Gwen mentioning the old crew makes it more frustrating we never get to see them
