>>149561096I'm trying to write a book that one day might get adapted into a cartoon and media in general relies so much on writing. I like to criticize these indie cartoons because they are the chief shit inspiring younger gens. We could debate all day whether I'm butthurt or not about the success but you didn't really refute my criticisms at all with specific examples because you're not passionate enough to actually care about the details of a story, only the aesthetic shit.
The reason I brought all them up is because they are all following a trend of catching attention rather than actual story depth or direction.
>>149560874>TADC is halfwayYeah don't make me post that pic of the stick figure seeing shit coming out onto his plate and the other stick saying he can't possibly tell if it will be shit or not.
Yeah I watched those shows. Maybe Murder Drones does fulfill that interesting sci-fi idea but then it just focuses on shit I don't care about and thinks the characters are interesting enough instead of just a mass of quirks and "some" serious moments.
Then they get "some" development where they just see eye to eye again or get into a relationship or whatever. Yeah I misremember most of it but basically it doesn't actually have any conflict that means anything beyond what a story entails of having characters have a problem and then fixing that vague problem.
Escapism is fine that is not what I'm arguing against but I'm saying that shit was cool aesthetic ideas that went nowhere except generic ends. Not much separating it from generic slop we get on Netflix. I'm not expecting Shakespeare, only some writing beyond college level stuff.
Also they're fast paced? Then direct it to where its cheaper and still has more story stuff going on and if it's cheaper more thought out shots then there's more length and sometimes that creates more substance to the story.
