It depends on the version. Comic Question eventually becomes more mellow/balanced with his morals. One of his most iconic storylines was him learning how to be a more efficient crime fighter and not just wing it with his mask, his cool car, learned some martial arts.

In the cartoon, he keeps some of his moral stances, but he is more defined by the lengths he's willing to go to preven the good people from the justice league from dirtying their hands. He's the guy that can take being a villain and he's willing to act like one at times, even if he's a good person at heart.

The O'neil run is better as a comic(anything is). But it isn't preachy.
The actual Question character never really got to be like to Mr A nor Rorschach. Writers just projected those two into Question.

This was rejected within the late 80s comics. I don't think you actually read The Question comics, because post-Watchman Question doesn't act like Rorschach, outside of that one storyarc that directly takes on this idea, and is rejected completely.

It's just a Question-lite from the 80s comics. Ditching all the Zen-stuff, for the light-heated "wacky conspiracy guy who's actually a good detective too". You see Question opening ice cream tubs, to confirm his crazy ideas.

Ditko's question comes close. There's a storyline where hes basically being pressured to cave in to a corrupt/mobbed up politician, and he refuses to let the staff in his news room help him unless they each articulate precisely why they're morally invested beyond a personal affection for Vic.

JLU Question absolutely takes inspiration from Rorschach. He talks in a creepy voice, goes through other people's trash/violates their personal space, and his confrontation with Luthor mirrors Rorschach's confrontation with Ozymandias almost perfectly, including figuring out a conspiracy too late to actually stop it and going into a fight with a man he thinks is a soft rich boy who then *instantly* wipes the floor with him.
I don't know where you're getting the connection to the 80s comics, 80s Vic was actually a cool dude struggling to discover himself, not a driven weirdo almost no one can stand.

The original didn't have the Jew edited into it. He was just a conspiracy theorist and it was supposed to sound like crazy-talk back 20 years ago and all of those things actually having a single underlying explanation probably didn't even cross the writer's minds.

Other things "crazy" things he's said include
>JFK was shot by a magic bullet forged by illuminati mystics
>The true purpose of aglets on shoe laces is "sinister"
>Fluoride renders teeth detectable via satellite
>Baskin-Robbins secretly has 32 flavors

But he also has a very deadpan style of humor that makes it hard to tell if he's being serious or not.
