Youtube has become 10x worse in the last two weeks.
Yes it was always getting worse and worse, a steady, slow decline.
Two weeks ago it became unusable, it went off a fucking cliff, it can find exactly two videos when you look up a topic.

I am unironically looking for alternatives as a viewer - it's such a desperate idea that I've never done it before.
Maybe a client like piped or the old dailymotion or something

I notice lately that there's zero recommendations for me that actually match the format and style (usually long and in depth) of videos I actually enjoy watching, everything is insubstantial short form memes that aren't even worth the effort to click on to be entertained for 30 seconds.
Otherwise it feels like I'm just stuck with the same subscriptions I've had for years at this point, surely there must be new channels making interesting videos but my algorithm can't find any of them

Because doing social media seriously, as your job, makes you paranoid as fuck. The algorithms shift at random. Identical posts that would reach 99% of your audience randomly get 1/1000th the engagement you got before. Sometimes followers who want to see your posts never see them because some faggot at the company that runs the site decided it would be better if there were more sports betting ads in everyone's feed today, and when he changed his mind a week later, everything you posted in the meantime was swept out of the cycle of suggested and recommended content permanently. And sometimes, only rarely, you do get shadowbanned. Like actually fucking shadowbanned. You can't appeal it. You can't fix it. You don't know when it will end.

Dealing with that long enough would make anyone paranoid and anxious.

Yes and now you can't even find music.
I can look up the exact name of a song and not find it.

Try looking this video up with the search bar, without clicking play on it first:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ITjx5RIypA

this video can not be found, it may as well be unlisted.

Newgrounds, Dailymail, and Kick.
Unironically the biggest reason Youtube was amazing is because everything could be uploaded to it, it's a one stop shop for videohosting. So if you want alternatives you will need alternativeS, one won't just do, and even if there is another "all in one" video site they will then over time they will become the next YouTube complete with all the flaws and extra baggage that come with it.

I'm glad I'm not the only one this is happening to holy shit. My recommended is filled with garbage meme videos that are like 30 seconds long at most and not related to fucking anything I actually watch. If I get another Family Guy clip recommendation I'm going to flip a fucking table over. And now when you hide the shorts it doesn't hide them for 30 days, it just says that it'll "display less shorts" and then brings them back in totally random interviews. And the search function barely works after the first top three hits and then it just devolves into random shit you've already watched and more of those FUCKING SHORTS.

Kind of like this. I miss when youtube was just for fun, it was ironically way less cluttered with shitty content. Now that it offers the perspective of real money, everyone is just desperate to meet the demands of the algorithm. It makes it all feel so artificial.

Then again, it is nice how it offers the possibility for people to do their own thing, too, like >>149553047 said.

A good point. Because youtube doesn't outright pay enough for animators (because the dollar per view ratio has plummited) is how you get the Egoraptor to Arin Hanson pipeline, when people discover they can use the huge fanbase they have and churn out lower quality videos for equal amounts of profit. At that point animation isn't feasible there either, hence the patreon shilling and merch shite. Genuinley, I thought doing merch with these companies costs a good deal to where it makes the revenue for them less worthwhile. I must be mistaken, maybe theres some cheap merch vendors or manufacturers out there who make it worth.

Sorry he called the Confederacy retarded. But you gotta understand that the Confederacy shouldn't have been allowed to make up the "Lost Cause" myth. That'd be like if MacArthur hadn't gone to Japan and break down their military state. Now we're stuck with 2 sides of the country getting 2 different histories of the Civil War. One is clearly the correct way things panned out, and the other gets sensitive when they're corrected.

I hate how much porn is being shoved down on anyone's recommended tab, even if they barely watched any videos on the site at all. Not only that, but the people who make Shorts on YT have no morality, as Shorts around animals typically have them be brutally murdered or tortured.

The lost cause myth was invented by the north, retard

The union abolished slavery after the war too, it was never about freeing them, it was about dismantling a growing second pole of political and economic power that would be posed to challenge Washington DC. Both sides were fucking shit.

The economics, primarilly around the actual exported goods, has everything to do with slavery, the primary workforce for the agricultural industry which the South had the vast majority of. Meanwhile textile and industrial work was all up north, industries significantly less impacted by the setup of slavery.

yeah I can't stand big youtubers begging for money
youtube never should've started giving video makers money t b h
It's made things so much shittier
I remember watching one creator in a stream that makes vids on niche peculiraites in a specific game, some commenter suggested an okay idea, youtuber shut it down because he refused to do any video that would potentially get less than 100k views
and in another recent stream he was begging for people to dump their thought's on something en masse so he could use them for his vids
side note, don't watch streams from creators you like, never goes well from my experience
so many of these bastards are just in it for the money
also big fuck you to AH creators who go on eternal hiatus except one in october to shill some dogshit makeship plushie

Union side
>Thinks slavery is cringe and America shouldn't double down on it. Especially with many Western countries moving away from it
Confederacy
>Built their economy on the backs of an oppressed class and threw a fit at Fort Sumter when a candidate they didn't like got elected

So I know with America's succession from Britain gave some historical precedent for the South being able to leave. They still attacked Fort Sumter.
Plus the Union wasn't shit for wanting the US to stay whole and abolishing slavery. Both sides are economically stronger by staying together.

Yeah, while I'm not a fan of the general shut down on internet porn, I've never liked coombait on my yt and have to really fight that shit back since it does so well. Hate fuckers that try to game the system with coombait thumbnails for instance.
The animal situation sucks too, I saw a vid of some dumbass kid tossing a kitten around. Very banal in the grand scheme but still fucked.
Also SO FUCKING MANY animal vids in general are fake thirdie slop. If you ever watch an animal vid on yt that's not a documentary or over 10 years old and has no one talking, it's fake as shit. If you start looking close, you'll notice it everywhere, particularly by looking in the background and seeing how run down everything is.
They mostly come out of SE Asia

Because the Southern states could see the writing was on the wall when Lincoln was elected. They were going to abolish slavery, so the South wanted to secede before that happened. The Union should've found time to abolish it during the war, but it was during wartime. You think Congress is slow now, imagine how bad it was with a war happening so close to home and without telephones. Not to mention that was the bloodiest war in American history.

Leftists are vastly more mentally ill than rightists since their entire worldview and reality is a lie caused by reproductive suppression imposed on them by the ruling class of managerial bureaucrats and the state whom leftists worship as their god.

Also itโ€™s funny seeing leftist complain about being shadow banned when basically all rightist content creators are shadow banned on most social media sites.

Because the main thing they didn't trust the federal government over was slavery.
Actions are not separate for the context in which they happened unless you want to argue something along the lines of that shooting a gun to hunt is the same as going postal.

There's a reason why there has been no *real* competitor to YouTube, Google operates it at a huge fucking loss. Being the massive tech conglomerate that they are, they're one of the few companies that are strategically positioned to make something like YouTube. They operate it at a loss with their already established internet infrastructure because they use all that massive amounts of user data for all their other divisions.
