>Given Gunn's History, does the future of DC look promising.
No.
Gunn is only good at making one type of movie: a team-up action with an autistic-coded guy as the leader of this team. You can't build an entire universe on that. It might work for one franchise (GotG, TSS), but when you keep repeating the same tropes from one franchise to another (Peacemaker, Creature Commandos, Superman), the whole structure will eventually collapse under its own weight.

More like a movie with 30 C/B-list characters where everybody's a comic relief and all jokes have some sexual/goo connotation.

>Eel O'Brien, now the superhero Plastic Man, has erased all traces of his old life. But his path of repentance has led him back to the family he once abandoned for a life of crime.
>He takes his son out on the town to reconnect with him, but things go sour thanks to Gulliver Foyle, a former FBI agent who lost his job when the O'brien case went cold.
>Foyle kidnaps Plas's son and gives him an ultimatum: turn yourself in to the police or the boy dies.
>will Eel turn himself in, ensuring Luke's safety but severing their connection forever?
>or will he stand against madmen everywhere who think they can kidnap children and get whatever they want?

as things stand either there's a serious lag on the overseas gross reporting or it's just plain doing worse than anything else out right now

that being the case it's going to be lucky to hit its reported break-even point of 550 global, and will be competing directly with another cape (that doesn't even have capes) this weekend, which has already beaten Superman's previews gross and is likely to destroy its audience from here on out

best case it continues to make 50% week on week and ends on about 350 domestic and 200 overseas, worst case it suffers a huge week 3 drop and finishes under 300 domestic for less than 500 worldwide

either way whatever Gunn's vision is it better be deliverable on a budget

Lady Shiva and Richard Dragon duo action film. Shiva is the lead and Dragon is the rival/deuteragonist. Set in Badhnisia, Shiva arrives trailing the League of Assassins, seeking David Cain, only to be drugged and ambushed by eight of the deadliest assassins in the League, barely escaping before collapsing and awakening in the home of Richard Dragon - her former rival, now paraplegic and a recluse.

He warns her all he's done is make her comfortable - the poison coursing through her veins will kill her in less than six hours no matter what. She's satisfied with that answer - that's plenty of time to find and kill David, and steal back the treasure he's taken from her. Richard warns her he's deeply entrenched, at the bottom of a compound that lies at the very heart of the active volcano that sits at the center of the island, surrounded by his most faithful students within the LoA and multiple hired metahuman thugs, but she's not deterred. With the last hours of her life staked, Shiva wages a one-woman (and one crippled man) assault on Cain's loyal acolytes from the LoA. Full on Iko Uwai, John Wick martial arts madness as the pair of them perform wilder and deadlier feats to beat their way through trained assassins and metahuman foes alike, all for the one treasure left in the enigmatic Sandra Wu-San's world: her 8 year old daughter, Cassandra.

I'd have posted sooner but my internet went out.

>Genius inventor and aurelian Drury Walker styled himself as a superhero similar to his idol, Batman, under his hero name Mothman, after the cryptid to strike fear in the hearts of criminals but Batman personally advises him against this line of work.
>The film begins with him already given up on superheroism and has devolved into a down in his luck "hero-for-hire" to help pay for his estranged daughter's college and living expenses.
>Walker hesitantly takes on a new job to rob a bank with other villains. The job was a success and the once hopeless Walker finds comfort in his newfound appreciation, especially from his daughter although she is still cold towards him.
>Fast forward a couple years, Walker is talking criminal jobs from notorious supervillains under a brand new name, Killer Moth, as a Moth-themed "goon-for-hire" who is starting to make a name for himself on both Gotham PD and the criminal underworld
>He eventually gets a call from Penguin to pull off a high-stakes heist, one that has many other criminals not take due to Batman's heightened activity surrounding it. Walker is hesitant but is won over by his daughter, now cognizant of his line of work, who is now graduating and looking to move out with her boyfriend and soon-to-be fiance. She tells her father that it would be the last thing she can do for her that'll finally win her over and forgive him for making her mother leave them both and not regret her decision in staying with him.
>He plans accordingly but the heist becomes as a disaster as it was planned to be a distraction by Penguin for the Batman as he . Everyone gets caught, including Walker, who desperately tries to escape but is then beaten mercilessly by Batman
>As he is sent to Blackgate, his daughter disavows him completely to the authorities and goes on a tirade of him being an abusive parent. Inmates cheer Walker as he is escorted to his cell, finally getting the validation he always wanted.

A 1970's set Rorschach movie in the vein of Taxi Driver and Oldboy, no mention of masks or superheroes. just a cold cut crime drama thriller
a Flash trilogy in the vein of the Raimi Spider-Man movies
a Wonder Woman mythological epic in Tartarus and Olympus
an ACTUAL Superrman movie that adapts What's so Funny about Truth and Justice
The possibilities are endless if they just stop with the DCU bullshit and embrace Elseworlds
