When you see this guy, what is the first song that comes to mind? Banana Phone or Peanut Butter Jelly Time?

Peanut Butter Jelly Time
The song Banana Phone popped into my head when I read it, but that gif has always been for Peanut Butter Jelly Time to me.

Banana Phone makes me think of YTMND

Banana Phone makes me think of the old Newgrounds animation where the song gets stuck in a guy's head and drives him insane until he kills himself.

What is the earliest meme that springs to your mind? The one you first saw? I saw an image macro of Yolo Swaggins and some Pokemon ones when I was but a lad. Peanut Butter Jelly Time and The Ultimate Battle of Ultimate Destiny were close behind alongside ThunderLOLcats. That shit was how I found minecraft and ponies. Good thing I didn't get into ponies.

I was going to mention that
He shot a police officer for some fucking reason and when they went after his ass he barricaded himself in an apartment and held a guy hostage
The police didn't even shoot him he fucking shot himself
Why is it that even the Peanut Butter Jelly Time guy feels the need to throw his life away?

I made shitposts for YTMND (that never got more than 10 views, so don't ask), so pretty much all the memes associated with it. Stole my bike, NEDM, Cat on a Keyboard, etc.

Yeah though that was because I was strictly a kid who wanted boys stuff. MLP was when I was getting into middle school so you wouldn't catch me watching it. But Hub was cool with Dan vs. on it. There was another good show but I can't remember.
>>149559209
Yeah memes were always exploited by advertising to some degree in order to relate to the people being advertised to but that could be like a unique occurrence of it happening pretty quick back then. Am I wrong? Ad agencies/campaigns were slow but I assume I am wrong and whaaaazzaaap was used for a while there before that.
>>149559269
YTMND was something I probably saw memes of on Google but I only really got into it when going on KYM and looking back at some YTPs that were probably referencing YTMDs.
>>149559299
Ancient stuff. Next you're gonna tell me you saw the dancing baby first and that you sent fax bombs or whatever that's called when you faxed black sheets of paper to companies. Homestar Runner is something I think is too old for me to sit through, though I dunno. Maybe it holds up. I saw all your base on Google as well while Bubb Rubb was something I saw through Ray referencing it on Achievement Hunter.
A lot of 2010's stuff kinda had some recursive instances that referenced the OG chan culture that allowed me to find out about a bunch before KYM just made it way easier to get everything before I started posting here. Happy Wheels also had a level with Pedobear in it one time before I knew what a pedo was. It was just an internet thing I didn't fully get.

memes?
Homestar runner (dot com)
zerowing posting
a winner is you
do you have stairs in your house?

but my first image macro experience was getting emails from my godfather in canada, he would get 20 of the best posts from the chatrooms in 1992 and email them to my dad, who would print them out for me to take to school and share with the neighbour kids.

my bones are dust.

Banana Phone, but I wasn't aware of memes and I didn't "see" it, it was my cousin's ringtone.
as for visually seen and perceived as a widespread phenomenon, no idea. maybe gangnam style?

mate, it was the early 90, these were printed off the work machines on continuous form paper, most of them were just text, the occasional ascii style image of a pinup, or a neat little helicopter. by the end of the 90s it was mostly white Arial text over an image, the one i remember most was "everytime you masturbate god kills a kitten" over a Japanese ad with two domo's chasing a kitten.

My parents were early adopters of the internet so I was using it as a little kid in the late-90s and remember stuff like the Seinfeld "MY BALLS" edits, the internet is a series of tubes, hamster dance, Japanese Pokemon Rap, Hyakugojyuuichi, etc.

>ponies get into you

God damn that is the motherfucking truth, isn't it?

It's been over ten years past, now, but the fucking horses still don't leave my head, not really.

I feel like I could flip a switch and go right back to being a Brony, it's merely convention and circumstance that have made the fandom die in my heart. There was some powerful meme magic at work with the Horse Show. If you lived through it you'd understand. They got their hooks into you, those six.
