Never seen that cover before, it doesn't even make sense. Thought it was a direct-to-video sequel or something.

At any rate, any movie from the Disney renaissance era is good; there's a reason why they are still referenced and seen as old standards for western animations: the animation qualiy is great, the songs are iconic, the design is nice, the story is straightforward.... what's not to like?

Always hated this movie doesn't help that the prince is innocent of course a preteen boy doesn't want a witch looking homeless bum hag in his castle she looks haggard and scary. And what do you know despite her true form being pretty she acted like any given witch from fairy tales as suspected.

Never liked this shitty movie. Belle is also an insufferable Mary Sue she's totally a genius because she reads fantasy novellas instead of actually impressive things like her father's engineering to be an inventor. Being able to read doesn't make you intelligent especially if you read shit. Just look at most of the damn internet. I just fucking hate this movie and I really hated how the universe bends backwards for Belle. She doesn't do anything to earn her status and I was never convinced she loved the Best. Didn't feel any attraction between them compared to Aladdin with Jasmine or Simba with Nala.

Disney used two different posters for their movies at the time, usually one or some times two different "Here's the cast" style posters, and one more artsy one. Most people is familiar with the artsy one.

I see your point, that she seems to have no downsides and that everyone in her village sings her praises and all, but she isn't exactly a Mary Sue, we don't see her solving every problem by herself, and the people are only saying stuff because A: she prefers to read and spend time alone than interact with people in the village and do more peasant-y stuff, and B: she doesn't seem to be looking for romance, which the villagers find weird considering she is young and pretty.

I mean yeah you can stretch it a bit and call her Mary Sue, but I think she is just minding her business for the most part. I don't remember her imposing over others, except when she defended the beast.

This was before she went to Beast's castle where she got gifted even more free shit like dresses and her own library. I can't stand how she kept getting perks simply because she exists as this wonderful Mary Sue which she is.

All true, but it didn’t stop me from enjoying it. The witch situation being fucked up feels par for the course for traditional mystical beings. So many folklore traditions revolve around children being taken away and eaten for minor infractions.
Belle is also a bit of a cunt, but I thought the relationship between her and Beast was very well done. It helps that he’s actually intimidating at first. The voice actor did a tremendous job.

I keep thinking the same every time OP reposts this thread. Belle's clothes got a weird alt color variant. The Beast appearing in the clouds with a grumpy face makes him look like the big bad of the movie. The art looks kinda cheap compared to other Disney cast posters like this. Something about it reminds me of direct-to-video sequels or even mockbusters/ripoffs.
