Not really. It became clear after three episodes with her that she doesn't have any powers or real combat ability. She was a very disinterested, unthreatening villain. Yellow Diamond was the one with the big plan. There was never a particular 'motivation' for Peridot to even antagonize the gems outside of doing her job, since she just runs away from them. Once the Cluster plans fizzled out there was nothing for her to fight them for.
