Also, let's be real, there were exactly two genres of webcomic back in the day. Penny Arcade knockoffs, and barely disguised fetish fiction.

1) The fetish isn't something that immediately turns me off, or is presented in a way that turns me off.
2) The comic is good enough that it doesn't rely purely on the niche fetish appeal to be worth reading.

I don't have a problem with that. I have a problem with the terrible art and the fact people would rather discuss this stuff but not any of the thousands of comics with good art. I don't like /co/'s obsession with bad shit. If it's not this, it's Pinky and Pepper or Dogisaga or Questionable Content. /co/ seems to have terminal brainrot, and I hate it.

Despite being a fetish comic, EGS was too far up its own ass with extremely dragged out plotlines, shitty worldbuilding, and magic anime bullshit that changed every other arc because Dan kept realizing how fucking stupid his setting was the more he wrote for it, while forgetting to be a fucking fetish comic.

Did anyone read La Goonish Shave? The shaving thing was weird and it kept happening.

I feel a certain amount of resentment for not being recognized for not inserting my fetish into my webcomics. It's really hard to resist drawing all the female characters becoming mermaids and being forced to live as pet/ slave girls. A little credit would be nice

Here.s my idea for a "barely disguised fetish" webcomic:

Main character is a rowdy little bully brat that is being sent off to boarding school for correction.
When he get there, he reads on the entrance gates
>ANGELCRY GIRL BOARDING SCHOOL FOR BOYS

At first it seems he will be the only boy in the classroom, actually he may even be the only male around.

But when he is given his uniform and introduced to other students he discover the terrible truth: there are no girls in Angelcry.

Boys in Angelcry must memorize and follow a strict list of 114 rules ensuring they organize, live, dress, act and speak like proper ladies. Any infrigement to any of this rule is immediately punished through magically inflicted pain.

The goal isn't to turn them into girls but rather depriving them of their boyish impulses until they learn how to civilize.
Ms. Wrinkleton the director firmly believes only a proper female education can effectively weed out agressive behaviours kn young boys, and she has set Angelcry as an example to prove it.

Angelcry seems to be a place out of time where you stop growing, starting again and again the same classes, the same routine until you proved you deserve to leave. Some boys have been stuck here for entire decades yet they never age.

Classes at Angelcry are typical : Math, English, History, etc...but also some more female activities as sewing, cooking, music, dance, gardening...

Angelcry is full of mysteries, clueless pupils wonder if the director is really a witch, id there's really ang magic at all, if they have a chip inserted in their body, if they are actually dead, if they are under illusion...due to the atmosphere of permanent self-control and watch there ks no way to know what is actually going on.

In Wotch it depended on the artist. The first artist packed the comic with a lot on top of tf. The one before it hiatus'd itself to hell was only tf. Sometimes these things try to include as many as they can.
