I think it still looks fine, it is recognizable. Problem is when the art changes so much that it absolutely stops resembling the original, or when the artists starts to oversimplify their style more and more, presumably to make the process quicker, but it ends up just looking like a straight downgrade.

I always pictured Rosa as having a heavy Mexican accent and that one animation pretty much confirms it, but Maria and Maricela I can only imagine having the standard American (actually Californian (actually derived from farming communities around modern St Louis that later migrated to California)) accent. But how do YOU read them?

Iirc Maria's VA is the LA dub of Peridot from Steven Universe. Her voice is a lot deeper than I was expecting it to be. Maricela's voice is kinda how I thought it would be, kinda high pitched and bubbly sounding.

Maria's voice is the only one I'd change a bit. It's not bad, is just a bit too deep, like >>149569859 said. Still, not bad

Rosa's and Maricela's are good. However, I think only Rosa should have the heavier accent. I don't know for how long they have been living in the US, but I agree that Maria and Maricela, being younger and growing in the US and all should have less of an accent.

I also want to say I like this author, he seems genuine in his passion for comics, and I always enjoy reading his strips.
