Hell Fucking Yeah! The original creators have finally reclaimed the streaming rights and we might have four or five new episodes!

I'm glad they're retconning the ending.

In case you are wondering why it took so long to get new episodes:
>The viral success caught the attention of Mondo Media, a digital animation company riding high off the success of web series like Dick Figures. Mondo offered Lindsay and Alex the chance to work on Baman Piderman full-time.

>“We were like 25, 26 years old,” Lindsay says. “They told us, ‘Quit your jobs and come work on your own show.’ And we did. We were young and dumb and didn’t know any better.”

>They signed over the rights to the show in exchange for full-time employment and a commitment to complete the series under Mondo’s banner. But Mondo, like many early digital content platforms, faltered. The company eventually went under, and with it, all rights to the Baman Piderman series were absorbed into a library that was passed along through corporate hands.

>“They went under partway through our contract,” Lindsay says. “With them, they took everything. We lost the rights to our own show.”

>And so began nearly a decade of legal complications. New owners now held the rights, none of whom were responsible for the original contract, but all of whom were legally entangled in its consequences.

>“The current rights holders are good people,” Lindsay emphasizes. “They’ve tried really hard to help us figure this out. It’s just that the situation was so complicated. They didn’t even know how messy it was when they inherited it.”

Bigtop Burger should celebrate by having the inevitable scene where Steve and Cesare and the clown guy bust out of Caligiri's prison with the other cryptids, Baman and Piderman should scramble out in the background as well. The Smallbuteras are working pretty deeply on this show, it would be a fun nod.

Fucking FINALLY.
And it was a secret that the rights got suckered away from them? I knew that for years, just not the specific details.
Like shit man, you don't release a teaser for an episode (the basement guys' art house film episode) that's basically done and then just never release the full episode, it was obvious from that that something screwy was happening behind the scenes.

So do I.

I get the feeling from reading the article they're being really restrained in how they're talking about what happened to avoid creating a scene. Which, respect. They've always been some of the least annoying /co/ creators in a consistent way. Classy. Sucks what happened to them though.

Yeah, they were super nice when they did visit. /co/ was a different place back in 2014, less terrible than it is now, but still declining then.

I backed them on kickstarter. I'm glad they're seeing it through to completion with the promises that were made.
I never could get the zip download with all the logo-less episodes to open though.

I miss when creators weren't afraid of visiting the site, but you can't blame them with the shitshow it's been for the past decade, they originated here

Yeah...
It also doesn't help that anything you do online gets held against you forever if some asshole can get views by bringing up a fossilized twitter post or message on newgrounds.

They don't have any "skeletons" in their closets, so they've thankfully been ignored by current culture.

Or just never post anything that can be linked back to you.

I'll need a new file name for this.

Yeah I'm sure they won't show their faces here again, especially considering SmallBu is now doing much more high-profile work, but I'll always remember the fun threads where they hung out. I'm glad they're finally able to finish the series how they want.
