I'm just happy to see Nepeta again. I think Hussie treated her like an afterthought when her and Equius (though I care far less about him) had so much potential for character development. in my head this world and its inhabitants were created by the winners of a sburb session and another session will start from this world in the future. the frog temple exists somewhere and something that basically defines the world is the direct result of something that will happen in the future session.
am i being too autistic by tying this project into my hyperfixation, or is it a good bit of extra spice? i feel like it definitely helps motivate me, especially with the thought of one day making a sequel which goes through the sburb session, but i could always change it. i dont plan on showing any of the explicitly homestuck stuff in the actual game, and i have some alternate explanations in mind for everything that could work fine, im just way less interested in them

I think including references like that can be fun, but it would be best to not have homestuck be a prerequisite, but integrating parts of it as if its just an organic part of the setting could be fun.

1. Too many cooks in the kitchen. All these guest artists are creating clashing artstyles. Undertale looked clunky but in a charming way, while the new polished stuff in Deltarune is well done but looks jarring. See the GigaQueen mech and the cool-but-out of place animation for the Titan. Remember abortedSlunk? He delayed at least 2 HS animation by making Hussie wait for him to finish his ugly shit. Toby's in the same boat even if his crew are a little more talented.

2. Teen drama when there's more interesting world building going on.

A bunch (and I mean a BUNCH) of kids start up a game of Pretentious Sword Art Online. None of them are prepared for what's gonna come, and all of them will suffer. But hey at least they'll finally be able to grow up.

The story here is REALLY weird and a drastic departure from anything homestuck, but it's stangely nice. It has that earlyb200's emo-goth vibe to it and the art improves. The author is probably bitting of more than she can chew but it looks like she might be able to do it, probably better than hussie at least.
