Leslie is a better fit for Clark than STAS Lois because STAS Lois doesn't really capture Lois' Silver Age characterization of being a seething hysterical tsundere madwoman. She's just rude and mean while Clark basically just takes it like a wimp, so their romance isn't really convincing. It's just snapshots of a woman being selfish to a man while neither party gets anything beneficial.

Leslie's also kind of a dick, but her temperament/demeanor does match Silver Age Lois in that she talks a big talk and throws her weight around, but ultimately is harmless so there's no real tension to her relationship with Clark. At best, Clark either rolls his eyes or pats Leslie's head.

I have a really really autistic analysis I am going to get into later, but basically, the og persona of Leslie before she became Livewire was the perfect modernization of Lois, and her dynamic with Supes was the closest we got to Golden/Silver Age Lois and Clark

Yeah clark in the comics was more of a smart alec, he'd usually take her cattiness and send it back or make her look foolish like the iconic jumping out the window scenes. Clark usually doesn't play into that childishness and tends to troll her right back. I don't think lois was that bad in STAS but definitely not her best version at all MAWS being her current worst to me.

Yeah the classic comics were weird krypton was ok with some incest, and it was even mentioned in one comic by a suggesting the best ways to revive krypton. I finally got around to watching the Livewire episode and it was pretty nonsensical I'd say. Leslie goes from a shock jock doing a routine to a genuine supervillain way too fast. Normally there's some downtime before a character goes off the deep end but not with her. Very jarring.
