The end of X-Men vs Inhumans was the end of the "Cyclops was right" era, where it was revealed that he died from the clouds at the beginning and that all this time it was an illusion of Emma's, it kind of took all the shine off a very cool martyrdom.

when marvel editorial and disney were trying to push Inhumans as the replacement to X-Men because FOX had the movie rights, so they were purposefully fucking them over and trying to weaken X-Men as a brand and make people like Inhumans as their substitute. In-Universe and Editorial/Disney kept trying to paint Cyclops as a bad guy and villain for just trying to survive and fighting the people literally trying to replace them in-and-out of universe, but it just made Cyclops even more likeable and popular with it backfiring on Marvel/Disney with all the CYCLOPS WAS RIGHT shit and the godawful terrigen fart cloud. They even made him dress up in red and black and look evil and scary while saying nothing but 100% correct shit about how bullshit everything about the situation was.
