they even didn't take advantage of the multiverse plotline.
we could have seen different ricks and mortys going on adventures, like with planetina were we didn't even follow c-137 at all.
or even show alien rick and morty or rita and morticia.
this show literally missed out on infinite possibilities.

First two seasons had a decent formula
>Rick and Morty leave on an adventure A-Plot
>Family back home has to deal with some Scifi thing while Rick is gone B-Plot
>A-Plot shows Rick is a colossal fuckup that half asses everything which usually makes the situation worse, giving Morty a function to be the one who resolves the problem
>B-Plot shows Jerry tries to be the most open minded when dealing with weird scifi thing, but Beth tends to navigate it a little better without trying.

First two seasons worked by doing this.
For some reason they fucked that up by making the whole family super genre savvy while Rick was some infallible unstoppable god. And Jerry is the most pathetic being in the universe, with at least a dozen episodes written to only point out how pathetic and shitty he is, also the rest of the cast will just call him out and insult him repeatedly like he is not a family member.

This skit is actially where I first heard the term 'milquetoast'. And I thought he was just saying 'milk toast' because he ran out of insult words.
