Is Korea the new Americans

not until they can pay their talent higher rates than Hollywood. the reason Hollywood is dominant is because they brain drain other countries

And people called me crazy for saying Korean cartoons aren't /co/.
And look where we are now, now it's officially /co/.
As for the film it was ok, I liked the music a bit.
Here's a couple Korean cartoons to get you down the rabbit hole.

When it comes to live action yes, they need to quit being an outsourcing studio for Western cartoons and just needs to focus on themselves, they are 100 percent capable of making cartoons but choose to be used for outsourcing for the West and Japan. I want them to break away from that.

Is it rot? They've been taking the best of what America had and throwing away the bad parts.

Not really. Eventually they're going to run out of young people to put into movies and music groups as the population irreplaceably plummets and there continues to be negligible immigration.

So much of KPop already comes across as disingenuous, embellished, and forced.

They'll probably still have a good base for outsourced animation though.

Asians are the largest race on the entire world. More than all the Hispanics and more than Africa.

/Asians/ are, S. Koreans are among the most rapidly shrinking demographics.

K-dramas and K-pop is going to be limited in its run simply because people don't want to watch geriatric goblins.

Koreans are Asian. The birthrate being low is a sign of intelligence. When your country isn't like China, where people live inhumane lives crammed next to each other, you can give your citizens a good life.

Well yeah. It's the pro wrestling of pop music. That's what makes it so fun. Everyone knows it's smoke and mirrors, half the enjoyment is committing to the bit and getting catchy music out of it too.

Korea has been gradually importing talents from other countries and Koreanizing them for decades anyway. Now that young people dream of being ~Famous In S. Korea~ they are easily recruiting the best talent from other countries. Their soft power is insane.

I don't care if current American TV is the worst written slop out there but K-dramas will never be big. Outside of very very very few directors these people treat editing and filming like Indians. The most recent movie by the Parasite director was a total flop, though he doesn't fit into that camp of the prior sentence.

Since when has America been good at animation? They haven't animated their own shit in nearly 100 years. Hell, they've been exporting most of their bulk animation to Korea for decades. It's probably not surprising that Korea has become so good at it as a result.

Also, we're currently getting the 90s anime situation with korean animation. That is, they're producing a lot of average to mediocre crap, but we aren't seeing it because people are exclusively bringing over the best ones available. You'd be a lot less impressed with korean animation if you watched all the boring kids shows and the passable animation on a budget, but we're just seeing the best get localized and put out there. Once it becomes more popular and the floodgates open, you'll find that Korea produces as much boring garbage as the rest of the world.
