I went looking for references, and the most direct confirmation (as in, not offscreen, not >implication, etc) is in Double Down Paulo says "You gone all the way with him, too?" while he and Lucy are being pissy, after Paulo no-sells Lucy blurting out her suicide to try and win the argument.

Incidentally, I also found pic related, so chalk up another direct contradiction to everyone (and Paulo specifically!) always knowing about Lucy's suicide attempt.

Lucy confirming that she WAS in fact thinking about how it'd effect Sue even though we saw Lucy at the time and she never brought up Sue, or any of her friends, her every thought was about Mike or trying to find someone to replace the Mike-shaped hole in her heart helps bring across how kind, and selfless, and sweet Lucy really is to her friends! Despite the fact that apparently Lucy thinks they're NOT her friends, and never were, and she wishes they'd just leave her alone.

My guess is that maybe, maybe Taeshi is trying to get Sue so angry with everyone when she sees Mike she'll blurt out something referencing the suicide to Mike with Paulo still around and a large picture of Mike looking like a deer in headlights for a smash cut to the next chapter with him gone.

I can see Paulo being too stupid to put it together until now, and Sue not trying to blurt out "Wait, Lucy tried to KILL HERSELF!" learning about it from Madison, rather than what is going to be the inevitable outcome of a terrible retcon.
