Why did it take so long for her to make the jump back to the comics?

I assume writers weren't really interested on doing anything with her?
What even is her deal? I just know her name and I think she has fire powers, does she have an interesting hook?

I can't find it right now, unfortunately, but I know she crossed over during the events of DC All In last year.

She was in only 2 episodes unlike Livewire who was in 3 ("Livewire", "Double Trouble" and "Girls' Nite Out"), just be thankful they didn't turn her into a sympathetic dyke who gives physiological lectures to others despite killing people and is now brown and has a equally brown sympathetic criminal girlfriend who is a race and gender swapped version of a Flash villain like Livewire in "My Adventures with Superman", I'm sick of writers turning female villains into """""sympathetic""""" dykes instead of just letting them be evil
less exposure means less likely to be ruined by shitty writers

Because

because the comics already had a red-haired criminal girl with fire powers
she just worked for intergang

she also basically worked for totally-not-SHIELD and totally-not-nick-fury in STAS which probably didnt help

The design's so goddamn off the mark of what Banshee usually is and the subversion of villains into muh misunderstood Robin Hood characters is tiring, but that hair and jacket does things to me.

being a superman villain but not being a kryptonian, brick shithouse (mongul, darkseid, etc.) brainiac or lex basically means you don't exist, maybe you can be included in a pile of bodies to make another character look good but i wouldn't get my hope up

Because she's a boring character whose only good story is her debut showing Superman that the government he serves is corrupt. And then afterward she inexplicably chooses to become a criminal so that makes her meh. And her powers aren't interesting. Not much you can do with her. She's not a villain who can show up multiple times. She's similar to General Zod, he only works for one appearance really.

She's really basic and not really much of a Superman villain anyway. Plus Fire already exists

Why is it when writers want to invent a new Superman villain all they end up making is a Doomsday Clone or Girl with elemental powers.

Bendis did both.

I think writers are trying to push Silver Banshee, Livewire and Parasite more

Volcana could slot in with those guys

i know the point you were trying to make was that OP should be glad Volcana wasn't turned into this, but why WASN'T she? she's actually a female Superman villain with fire powers and even has orange hair, why didn't they just call this character Volcana? at least Volcana is closer to whatever this is than Heatwave

She wasn't someone's nostalgia boner.
