Minna Sundberg does christian comics and they're great. I'm not christian and I read them unironically. She's undeniably talented. But even so it's possible I have weird tastes, if I'm reading christian comics and enjoying them despite not being christian.

Backstory: she had a popular post-apocalyptic webcomic called Stand Still Stay Silent. She ended it after two story arcs because she felt like it didn't reflect her worldview anymore after having a religious awakening.

She made a comic about going from christian as a kid to christian leftist to atheist leftist to libertarian to seeing the flaws in both leftism and libertarianism and having a period of atheist humanism to nihilism to christian. And I think it's a pretty extraordinarily brilliant autobio comic.

People who say this never grew up with religious parents. It fucking sucked and it is a big reason why parents nowadays are excessively lenient with their children.

Imagine being beaten, restricted, and gaslit daily. It's a horrible experience and it fucks you up socially and mentally. People who desire that level of abuse for others because of online cringe compilations are extremely selfish. Irreligious people with lenient parents were more successful than me as me.

My parents were religious but not strictly so. I didn't have like restrictions on media, though I probably should have since I was watching gore/rape anime when I was like 12.

In any case, I am way more good in character than people a gen or two younger than me, and I'm fucked. The more freedom kids have the worse they get. Kids need structure, order, discipline, and moral backbone. The most extreme cases of living in a religious nut household are the minority compared to most of us, who just had normal parents but with some morals and didn't let us behave like little fucking brats. I get how cultish some religious people can be, but that's not most, and most parents were better than the atheist ones today who just listen to inappropriate rap while their 7 year olds listen while playing on a tablet all day watching creepy shit on youtube and getting groomed in online games
