One Good comic and arguably the artist did most of the work. He has not made one good thing since watchmen. His highest point in his life was working as a janitor you know they say a a broken clock is right twice a day so yeah that's him

You haven't read his comics. He has mostly made kino.

Can you name a couple? Or are you just going to spout off crap I'm getting tired of people telling me this guy's not a hack when you actually look at his body of work and it's pretty crappy. His fan base is obsessed with him being a wizard and so they get so defensive when you actually say where's the beef come on where's the good stuff besides watchmen

Maybe you should start off by telling us which Moore comics you've read?
If you're going to make a statement like:
>He has not made one good thing since watchmen
I'd expect you thoroughly explored his work, but now you want recommendations?

You don't see this kind of argument with any other writer where the fan base has to basically say everything he did was good and wonderful and we can't tell you what is good. You know damn well he's a hack

let’s start with the comic OP is about. Moore’s Supreme run is great

You mean the same crappy 1980s style edgy exact beats as watchmen that run. Again his work is not that good once you read enough of it

a hack compared to who? yeah he makes mistakes and he doesn’t shit gold, but if Moore’s a hack, then every comic book writer is a hack. everything’s relative

literally nothing is edgy about Supreme. Moore actually retconned the character to make him a better person.

What did Thomas the Tank Engine ever do to Alan Moore?

LMAO. Way expose yourself as a know nothing retard who is completely unfamiliar with both Supreme AND Alan Moore

Old karate chops in the future and yeah it's bad it's his attempt to make something quasi golden age. Again he's overrated people don't want to admit that but without the talented artists his work sucks look what he did with the neverland where are the kids all have sex. When you actually get down to his writing it's garbage but he gets very talented artists to make it the moment he doesn't have a talented artist you get crap and you realize his writing is just crappy

If he really believed this he would have never created Dr Manhattan.

>his attempt to make something quasi golden age.
Silver Age his Supreme run is much more 60s and 70s Superman than it is 30s/40s Superman.
Tom Strong is more Moore attempt at making a pulp or Goldan Age charecter

His crap is so generic it took me a sec to even remember his work on Superman so don't start with your crap. All of his stuff blends together, the only reason you like him is the artwork which he didn't do

LMAO. Keep exposing yourself. Supreme is ONLY notable for Moore's writing. Supreme is criticized most for its art.

You're literally repeating talking points fed to you by comic book reviewers. Thinks for yourself you actually like his work.

He's right. But the irony is this does not make superheros as something to be derided, but to be praised.

I think the last sentence of that quote can only be interpreted as a compliment.

When dealing with british compliments always expect the back hand.

Is that currently on your mind anon? Have you tried not imagining faggots?
Anonymous No.149719290

No. You see, I've actually read Supreme (unlike you). Outside of the Rick Veitch silver age art, the "modern day" is your typically ugly 90s still trying to figure out digital coloring extreme Image art.

Moore is complementing Superman. He's talking about his Supreme run, which is basically Moore's Superman in all but name.
Moore loves Superman. Whenever he writes the character, he's always sincere about it.

Reminder that when Moore talks about superhero fans being manchildren or crypto fascists or whatever he means specifically the obsessed soitards who only have surface level understanding of comic books and are fans of them for sake of pure consooming. Moore clearly likes superhero stuff himself, the fact that he went out his way to critique a lot of issues with comic books in Watchmen only proves that cause a person who really loves something will undeniably critique that something. He just became depressed because the shitty trends overtook comic books and not the positive things he describes in OP.

Is it time for the bimonthly Alan Moore hate thread? I imagine the anon who keeps making these is someone who would kill his mother to be in the position Alan Moore was in, a position Moore turned down by rejecting the big two's abuse. This breaks anon's brain, so he cannot help but obsess about Moore and try weakly to bring him down on a Aleutian Cowry Shell appreciation station

yeah. it’s clear from Swamp Thing and others that he had a vision for what comics should be. but he couldn’t save it
