It's True Grit in space. Probably the best Tom King story just because of that, copying a much better novel. The art was nice too.

It's Tom King's only story you can consider decent, which I can only assume was sheer dumb luck on his part

& his writing fucking sucks.

He is a CIA democrat fed. He is even worse. For him, the biggest problem with his schizo war-crime committing sickos is that LBJ didn't kill brazilians.

I don't really like King, but I enjoyed this one. Highlights something that is logical for Kara but has only been explored a couple of times: that she was raised as a kryptonian and lost everything in a cataclysm, so she sees existence as something essentially fragile and sometimes she can't really deal with it.

I'm actually intrigued by Lobo's role in this. He could be easily inserted as either a villain or as an ally.

or both

I've not read any Tom King so I can't comment on that, but I always find it funny when someone who can't even string together a proper sentence accuses someone else of being a bad writer. If you can't communicate a simple idea, I don't care to hear your opinions on someone else's ability to communicate.

>TFW pre-Batman King was /co/'s golden boy who could do no wrong
>Visions, Grayson, Omega Man, and Sheriff of Babylon were all held in high regards
>Memes about him being a cool CIAman who'd rather write comics
>Batman 1 comes out
>Everyone instantly hated him and it has spiraled ever since
I don't know why but its just funny. It will always be funny to me. It wasn't even a slow transition it was just like the snap of a fingers.

You'd have a better chance of Streaky, if that. Smart money says Gunn will have one pet mascot per IP. That means Dex-Starr for Green Lanterns, Ace The Bat Hound, and Kanga

Grayson was literally a book about being a backstabbing underhanded glowie with all the Spyral shit so that was perfectly within his wheelhouse
The problem is any time he tries to write characters with souls or basic human emotions he can't do it and just ends up doing another self insert, which is an anxiety ridden suicidal wreck feeling bad for letting his family down (he did this to Batman AND Mister Miracle and his Wonder Woman is watching as totally -not-ICE agents gun down Amazons refusing to be deported by Sergeant Steel lmao wtf you CIA fuck)

the Lanterns will almost certainly get Ch'p. He will be voiced by Bradley Cooper and there will be a callback to "Don't call me a racoon." Dex-Starrr will show up too and we'll get his backstory and everything.

He's also a bad writer. Cordwainer Smith was an even bigger spook but he's also a good writer so I let it slide.
