What is Garfield and Odie's relationship?

They're a dog and cat who live together. If you ever saw those in person you would know that they usually get along but can have brief fights and being mean to each other just because. Animals don't have deep motivations behind their actions, they're easy to read.

Garfield is Jon's original pet. His loser friend Lyman moved into Jon's house early in the comic's run and brought his dog Odie with him. Lyman was eventually written out of the strip and Odie stayed. It's funny because mean cat hates dumb dog.

Jim Davis grew up with a lot of cats, and probably a couple dogs. Odie is the type of dog that loves everyone and everything, but also gets into your face. Garfield is a moody cat that can be friendly, so should be approached with caution. The reason Garfield kicks Odie off the table is because that's Garfield's space, he doesn't want Odie getting into his space. When Odie isn't breaking one of Garfield's rules then they get along great.

It was two guys actually, Zachary Johnson & Jeffrey Max. They’re freelance directors which means they do a bunch of commercials (examples: most of Terry Crew Old Spice and Messin with Sasquatch Jack Link’s Beef Jerky advertising campaigns) and sketch comedy bits (like Key & Peele and I Think You Should Leave). You can just go to their website to see some of their portfolio like I did not know they did the Darmine Doggy Door bit from ITYDSL until I checked it myself, that’s probably my favorite bit from the show.
