Thanks for the storytime OP
Something I noticed before that bugged me - dispositions seem to turn on a dime. May be due to rushing with only one issue left but Kate is quick to flip to Gwen Stacy's side (brushing over she just killed her friend), Gwen is quick to abandon her quest for vengeance after releasing Peter, the two Gwens reconcile rather fast, and all the normies being pissed off at capes came completely out of nowhere. I'm also not a fan of how Kate/Peter victim blame Gwen: yes, murder in cold blood is wrong but did they forget the Gwen Stacy they're just letting run around and speaking casually with MURDERED Gwen and her vengeful streak, while out of character, is kind of understandable?
The big reveal that Gwen Stacy is in fact a clone, a clone of a clone, was predictable. There was never going to be an easy way to revive Gwen Stacy tastefully, and there was always the possibility this was a clone from the start (they comment as such several times), this was the safest route. But with all the hype that went into this advertised as 'the REAL Gwen Stacy' it is disappointing, I almost would prefer something risky or shocking that would help this be remembered more than just yet another cloning of poor Gwen.
I'm curious why Gwen Stacy's mind prison is an IRL comic book store, something you'd expect of Gwen Poole (gives credence to a theory I saw that this clone might actually be one of Poole instead of Stacy). Gwen calling out all the comic's inconsistences/contrivances is kind of funny, the comic has been aware of its questionable plot points and gives me one last bit of hope the writer is still leading up to something worth it but there's a lot to deal with still. The Architect will need to be someone a lot more interesting than the Jackal to stick the landing. Why did he clone Gwen Stacy with Weapon X specifically, how will Gwen Poole come back to life, how is he altering the tone of the narrative itself? Let there be a point to all this.
