>Until we actually map out how the brain works
We have done that.
Its a question of resolution.
Do we know EXACTLY how every connection and component works with flawless fidelity?
No. But we've got the basic functions sorted out and have tons of experimental evidence for how the brain reacts to certain chemicals and stimuli.
You've gotta approach the brain on multiple fronts. Physics, chemistry, human interaction.
You can't just stop trying to help people with one method, because another isn't fully complete.
