Everytime I see a Canadian cartoon I think of this. But seriously though, why are they so bad? I remember reading that they need to put out as many cartoons as possible per year to meet a quota and get funding from the government, or something along those lines.

Yeah the main problem with Canadian cartoons is that while passion projects need less private funding to be greenlit, they're often overshadowed by slop execs who just choose the most inoffensive milquetoast crap because they don't like risk. Shows still end up with fetish fuel but that's a whole other topic
