I don't think Breakdown and Knockout were a couple. Though I do feel like there was an oversight when it came to the writing. I don't know how to explain it but to me it still felt somewhat out of character to me that Knockout would be so nonchalant about his death let alone using him as a mere test subject.

honestly starscream is a switchy in my head but that is okay too. i miss when starscream was a character with depht and ambitions. now he is either flanderized, a punch bag or casted aside. Only in the comics he is intersting so far. Maybe i will live to see another SC in the same level of the Prime one.

i'm more bummed over the fact they set up some future development in the episode where breakdown loses his eye but then they just kill him in the next season before anything comes out of that

Yeah, all that potential tossed aside simply because the show had some budget cuts. So they had to fire an actor, unfortunately Breakdown was to be the one on the chopping block. I wonder had things gone differently. If Breakdown did live and defect to the Autobots. Would Knockout have join alongside him. Or would he still be loyal to the Decepticons? Simply out of a sense of self-preservation.
