I mean that was the whole impetus for replacing Manhunter in the "Original 7" JL lineup with Cyborg. And i'd say that was pretty successful considering the only big screen version of the Justice League has him in it

They aren’t starting with her though, she’s just the MC of this series, they’ll probably bring in the other GLs over time. Also this show is possibly connected to Gunn’s DCU either that or it’s a spin off of that superman animated series.

Also Jess has been the most represented GL in media aside next to Hal as she’s been two versions of the Superhero Girls series, Batman Ninja universe films, and was in that Justice League Legion animated movie from a few years ago. And the reason for this aside from representation is Jess compared to all the other new GL humans that have come out in the last few years is actually an interesting character

A victim of child abuse who latched on to horror/monster films since those were less "real" to him. He planned on becoming a film director, but cosmic destiny said otherwise. Tends to favor grotesque constructs. The way he speaks is incredibly hammy and has a lot of awful jokes/puns. My own idea was something more in the realm of creeping horror. The shortened version of it was that the guy is a writer and believes that while large monsters can be scary there's Alway that idea of being able to beat them, and that the best, most potent fear comes from something more subtle and hidden. He doe a bit of a batman approach (even makes it a point not to fly too much) and uses his constructs to create gradual build of fear before attacking.
Skittering monsters in the shadow, lights getting broken one by one until youre stuck under the last unsure where he's going to attack from, and then realizing he's right behind you.
