I mean, if you know the history of the show or are a big KISS fan, the white makeup and top knot type thing are pretty obviously a Gene parody in itself, but if you just knew them casually, you might not automatically think "KISS" just seeing it, plus Rockzilla kinda looks like he has titties

I know how big KISS was but like if you weren't a rock fan, you probably most knew them as having black and white face paint, with heavy black makeup designs and black/silver costumes Rockzilla doesn't have. And there were lots of bands post KISS who wore makeup, Rockzilla looks a little more Motley Crue than KISS desu if you don't know the specific cues like the top ponytail

Anon, not that guy but stop. You're embarrassing yourself.
Even if he doesn't look 100% identical to any one member of KISS, your mom didn't ask you "Is this about a tranny?".
This shit came out in 2003. Well before tranny pride month politics shit was front and center in the general public consensus. In fact, nobody even called them "Trannies" back then. They'd have called them "Shemales". Only degenerate weirdos into that shit ever used words like tranny because only people watching that genre of porn or trying to fuck that particular breed of subhuman weirdo had trannies on the brain. At best, she'd have meant a transvestite, because her generation watched The Rocky Horror Picture Show. But that's still doubtful.

Assuming you were in the correct age demographic for this show, I'd bet your mom was a teenager at some point in the 70's or 80's.
Meaning she knew what fucking Glam Rock was. What she didn't know was internet vernacular from the mid 2010's to present day in the early 2000's.

And barring all of this, this is still 2003. Your mom isn't asking you, her CHILD in 2003 "Oh hey is this about a tranny????" because moms back in 2003 still shielded their kids from shit like that. If she thought her kid was watching a cartoon about a transvestite rock and roll dad, she'd have turned it off and told you not to watch it anymore, and avoided giving you a proper explanation beyond "It's bad and I said so"

Your story is entirely made up and you should feel like a loser for making things up on the internet.

For one thing, I'm not the guy with the story. For another, I'm a huge KISS fan to be honest, picrel are some of my personal figure collection back at my parents house, and my very first concert was ironically enough, in 2003, KISS/Aerosmith with Ted Nugent and Saliva in Detroit, so I'm not saying I don't know their iconicness I'm saying not everyone is quite as familiar, since Rockzilla isn't really a KISS design straight up, he's loosely based on it but is much more generic glam/shock rocker than KISS specifically besides a couple obvious ques

Now, I can tell you not everyone was and I'd wager most weren't raised that sheltered in the 90s-00s, I was born in 89 and you need to remember, our kids media is considered "so dark" today like Gremlins and Beetlejuice, shit we grew up on as kids films. We had Aliens toys, an R rated movie franchise, Robocop, a hyper violent gore movie had a kids cartoon, it was a different time and kids weren't nearly as sheltered.

My mom constantly cussed, used racial and homophobic slurrs, and this was more normal than not. I knew about "faggots" and that it involved men dressing as women because we saw one at the mall (an obvious transvestite dressed like a hooker with five o clock shadow) and my mom grabbed me and whispered "that's a faggot! probably a drug addict"

How is that weird? It's worse now, modern ie 2010s-now pop and rap music is way more perverse, violent, and inappropriate than mainstream rock music was in any decade

Grandma and Grandpa were very old school, and very traditional for communists. Radio, and a black and white TV. Only music that wasn't banned was allowed to be played on the family record player. The only books they had were those they had been allowed to keep during the Soviet Era, and old books great grandpa had before the second war.
East Germany was a very, highly repressed state. Your neighbors could be spying on you to the Statsi and the Statsi, in turn, could fuck with you to make you break mentally.
