So did middle aged Beavis and Butt Head still work at the same burger place they worked in at 15?

They don't work.
This was the subject on an episode when Beavis got a job through an agency as a personal assistant for a disabled person and ending up getting Butthead.

Why was this so much better than the new KOTH? I generally like KOTH much more than B&B too.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Beavis and Butt-Head. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp (huhuhuh, you said "grasp" - ohhh yeah, hehrmhrmhrm hrmh heh) of human reproductive biology most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Butt-Head's abusive personality, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his taste draws heavily from AC/DC, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realize that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Beavis and Butt-Head truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Beavis crying, which itself is a cryptic reference to Albert Camus' The Stranger ("the stranger" - uhuhuhuhuh). I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Mike Judge's genius unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools... how I pity them. And yes by the way, I DO have a butt tattoo on my butt with a tattoo of a butt on it. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- if you catch my drift, uhuhuhuh

I think it's two things

1) KOTH is undoubtedly more popular than B&B, and popularity really works against you when it comes to creative works. It's a big opportunity for the higher ups to make money, and so they start fiddling with things to play it safe or have even wider, more modern appeal. Hulu was advertising the shit out of this as a big thing, so they were absolutely keen on getting a return on their investment, so I can't see the staff being allowed to just make something funny

2) The staff was also just worse. B&B had writers that worked on Fraiser, prime era Futurama, some B&B episodes in the 90s, and so on. KOTH got writers from The Big Bang Theory, Rick and Morty spinoffs, Jimmy Kimmel, and Velma.

Having a show about two idiots attempting simple things is easier to write than a family show about a whole neighborhood.

I don't recall the Beavis and Butt-Head revival taking over /co/ the way this King of the Hill revival has.

Beavis and Butthead are like Mickey Mouse and Bugs Bunny at this point. Two characters that can be inserted at any time line or any scenario and it works because they are just two forms of pure comedy.

This, plus they didn't have a velma writer DIY pervert nigger on staff writing andrew tate men bad episodes.
Writing for king of the hill is probably the dream of tons of talented writers, I'd bet anything this board could write better episodes than xhe

They're two completely different shows. BB is just two dipstick making stupid but funny jokes it's kind of hard to mess it up. people expected to much out of KotH and when it didn't live up to there expectations they hated it
Both are good BB reboot is better but KotH is solid

This is the second B&BH reboot. The first one was one season because it sucked. The second one got it right because their character is "They're stupid."
