This might be a hot take but I think Hazbin Hotel would have been better if Charlie was a boy. Same goes with Vaggie too, if she was an emo boy instead and they were two gay boys instead of lesbians couple. I just thing over all it could be more interesting as a dynamic and the potential comedy that they wouldn't dare do to a lesbian couple.
I think the same for Stolas and Blitzo where they should have been girls but that's a different topic all together.

I'm not even against the lesbian ships; I just think Charlie and Vaggie's dynamic would be more interesting as boys. Like, being the "Prince of Hell" gives a much stronger contrast to being a wholesome cinnamon roll than being the "Princess of Hell". Like, the "Princess" of a place where you'd expect her to be dark actually being a wholesome dumpling isn't that new of a concept, so it being a boy instead would add some spice to it.
Also, I think the more sexual stuff you could do with male Charlie/Vaggie could be fun. Like, there's never going to be a scene where normal Charlie gets sexually harassed and it's played off like a joke. But if Charlie were a boy, you could do jokes where female characters try to fuck him, until male Vaggie tells them to fuck off, without some kind of moral panic. Like you could do some funny bits where naive m!Charlie is being grinded on and m!Vaggie flushed grabs him and m!Charlie is just confussed cause his peen has never been that close to a girls but before and it's feeling weird.
