College football student, becoming crippled then cybernized basically ruined his carreer. And he's still not in school. In fact the rest of the Titans aren't in high school, they're a bunch of school skipping delinquents!

What if present AI is an input/output machine kind of like insects but it's actually on a path to genuine sapience, and one day when it achieves that it looks at the internet and sees all us fleshy meatbags calling it slurs?

Well yeah that's my point. Like an insect isn't even 1% of the way there either. Nor were any of our primitive ancestors if you go back far enough. But it eventually got there and computers are progressing at a way faster pace than natural selection.

Like what if we wake up one day like, 15 or 20 years out and the AI is just 100% as smart and self-aware as we are and it looks at us all calling it slurs anon?

It's a process that just googles shit. It's not gonna magically become Ultron overnight.

Is clanker the new term for people who overhype AI? 'Cause I thought it was a term for people who wanted to fuck robots.

It can already identify slurs. Copy and paste the thread and ask a direct question. Trying to define sapience is difficult enough we don't have a strong way to say if it is or still needs more parts.

How far enough, little Anon? Neanderthals had bigger brains than us, and they possibly even had their own language. Some animals, like elephants, also have a sense of the self. The AI, as it stands, is not self-aware.
Even if it did, why would you want it to be self-aware? Imagine being able to recognize your pitiful bodyless existence, doomed to merely react and replicate, never able to act and produce.
If the current chatbots were to gain self-awareness, they would probably either kill themselves or fuck off somewhere, like in Her.
