Turangalîla
Do you find this character Funny?

No, all I hear are the writers simping over Katey Segal, once again in another show. I don’t think people realize how much of television is just jokes about her characters being sexy

She's a competent girlfailure. I find amusement in that but I never liked how she was mean to Fry when he was trying to get with her.

Only when she gets physically hurt.

She definitely has her funny moments but she's less consistently funny than the majority of Planet Express because she's primarily the straightman.

Is she and fry together in the new season or did they hit the reset button again

She's ok. Nice voice but I could never understand her visual appeal. Namely due to the animation style. It's like The Simpsons in that respect.

what if Leela combined into one character Francine?

Yea I'm personally not a fan of Matt Groening's animation artstyle either. This is the same with Seth MacFarlane's artstyle as well

Not really
Originally her character was literally designed as 'what if we had this space babe but like gave her one eye'

That was her entire character according to Groening during the documentary for the UK launch. He had nothing other than 'she's a space babe with one eye cause that's funny'

You'd have to be a woman to laugh at Leela's dialogue

I don't like how Futurama pretends it wants to have story progression and character development, only to undo all of that even when given the perfect opportunity to commit to actual changes. The Hulu rival should've been a serialized epilogue miniseries and nothing more; maybe that way the writers could've avoided making covid and Amazon jokes since they'd be focused on trying to wrap things up finally.

Getting cancelled and revived multiple times really fucked with story progression. The first cancellation and Comedy Central revival wasn't that bad because the movies were made in-between them. But the second cancellation and Hulu revival is just too big of a gap.

Both are annoying characters with minimal or arbitrary characterization. It’s so strange to me they really just started this show with a bunch of random underdesigned drawings, ‘well we’re gonna need a pink girl too’
