This is a weird thing I’ve noticed: what’s up with animated sitcoms have the main characters be fucked up, annoying, assholes, or idiotic?

guys like Dan povenmire point this out and it’s no wonder why it feels kinda justified to do better than that, you know?

My guess, you see the counterculture introduction of characters like Al Bundy and Homer Simpson in the face of 'TV's Dad' archetypes and then it's just escalation from there.

See how they did it, spit it out into ever increasing extremes.

Yep, it reached to the point we got Peter and Randy, etc etc.

And you know after seeing stuff like Kiff and Big City Greens, coupled with that recent garbage simpsons episode with the show “ending”, it got me thinking this sitcom stuff is kinda of a bad idea for humor
