Cheetah is weird. She's one of Wonder Woman's recurring villains, arguably the most popular outside of the Greek pantheon and myths. However it seems like she's just a character to be trashed on. Even when they depict her as a high threat they still end up having her defeated. Catwoman runs away until she gets Cheetah in an easy spot and beats her, Red Hood blows her brains out in one of the endings to that interactive movie, and in JL: Doom, she didn't even win against WW after getting a perfect plan. It seems like writers just see her as a jobber to throw at people. She should arguably be a high tier threat considering she's giving WW a run for her money and of course that goes back to Wondie and how the specific series treats her, whether she's just kinda strong or just below Superman. This however can also be seen as more Batwank since Catwoman is Batman's enemy/lover so anything related to him is immediately unbeatable which is a whole other problem.

Tldr: Cheetah shouldn't be jobbing to Catwoman

Are there any animal-themed villains in either DC or Marvel that aren't treated as jokes or jobbers? I feel like they are either gag characters, the "muscle", or the opening threat that gets taken out in the first two pages of a story primarily featuring a different villain.

Cheetah is lucky that Superfriends gave her the sometimes arch-villain status towards Wondy, otherwise she'd just be another forgotten one on the furpile.

As a fan of several villains that fall under this category, it makes me sad.
